Not really sure what to say about the sharpening service on my knife. I suppose I expected more, however I wasn't really sure what to expect. It's sharp, but not impressively sharp. Comparable to the 15yo farberware chef knife it's replacing that I last sharpened over 2 years ago. I hone it regularly and take good care of it, so it's not dull. I suppose I expected this new knife, with a professional edge, to be much sharper. Overall I like the knife, but I don't believe it's anywhere close to how sharp it can be.

Great on one, meh on the other
Bought two Dao Vua knives from Tokushu, a Honesuki and a Sujihiki, along with the Dao Vua knife sharpening service for both. I figured I'd be sharpening them up soon anyways, but I might as well have them in top shape out of the box. The honesuki arrived and is superb--wonderful edge, and well worth the $10 sharpening charge. In contrast, the sujihiki arrived pretty dull and needed immediate resharpening.
Edit: Tokushu reached out, apologized for the sujihiki being missed, and refunded me. Definitely seems like an honest mistake, and as I’m quite happy with how the honesuki turned out, I’ll definitely be doing this service for future purchases. Thank you!
