Prefer Hokkaido scallops

For some reason I thought I purchased the Maine scallops rather than the Hokkaido scallops because they were fresh, not frozen. I believe they were frozen. They were smaller & the muscle that attaches the scallop to the shell was still attached & made the scallops tough in those areas. I will say there was no gritty sand BUT we got a couple that just tasted weird like we shouldn’t eat them, just a weird dirty taste. I would not purchase these again over the Hokkaido scallops.
