An excellent machine in its class
My previous experience was with an HX machine with a larger boiler and strong steaming ability so this was a transition with a significant re-learning curve. The Pop-up is quite compact on my counter and heats up very quickly. With the help of the PID, it pulls a very nice shot. It is somewhat more finicky in steaming mode. Both the procedure and the steaming ability require close attention. With practice I have found that I can produce satisfactory micro-foam with this machine (as your staff assured me). As I am a cappucinno drinker, this was important to me. It also took me a few tries to master the cooling flush after steaming without making a mess, but that now goes fine. Clean-up works well, in particular backflushing. I also like the side accessed water reservoir. Very handy.
I purchased the Pop-up bundled with a Eureka Mignon Zero 65 grinder which has also worked out fine. It is a good match for the Pop-up. Coupled with a Lucca coffee scale, I feel like I have never had so much control over each shot.
Finally, I must praise all the guidance and help I have gotten from your Portland staff. I can not offer too much positive feedback. Starting with the demo of the Pop-up, then help with a couple of equipment issues, and numerous questions - they have been consistently patient and helpful. I feel like purchasing thru Clive was at least as important as the machine I chose. Thank you.

Sold ECM Synchronika to get this single boiler. Many years experience with espresso machines. Liked Profitec 300 better than ECM. Pop Up is a great little machine! Takes some learning particularly steaming with figuring best way to go from coffee to espresso and vice versa but delighted with this Quikmill!

It started a little rough…
It started a little rough because my grinder couldn’t get fine enough and shots were spraying everywhere. But after getting a new grinder things are looking better. I’m still working on g dialing things in, but I’m working on it.
