Nice sound, short life
I play Old-Time fiddle. I'm very happy with the sound and feel of this string. The only problem I have with them is that they usually only last about two months. The last Helicore A string I used lasted less than two weeks! They usually start to unravel. The other strings in the set last around a year. Yes, I cross tune, but that doesn’t affect the A string. I keep my fingernails as short as possible.

Gigging with Helicore
Using ONLY Helicore strings past 8 years. I play 100+ gigs a year as an entertainer (not orchestra player). The strings come right up to tune and stay in tune, they last an average of 8 months, and usually tell me when it's time to replace them, i.e., the wrapping starts to fray. Occasionally they snap during a song...that is why I always bring two violins with me to the event. A trick I learned from Adrian Lo decades ago...Dominants are good, BUT it takes too long to brake them in, as they keep stretching for a time...
