As a Doctor of Chiropractic and Classical Pilates instructor for the past 30 years, I seek out different ways to teach; and enjoy learning about props that can add new variables to the Classical work. That is why I decided to purchase this video. As the name of the video implied, I thought I would be taken through a sequence of actual Pilates exercises. My first clue should have been the fact that there were "warm up" and "cool down" videos in addition to the "workout" video. In the true system of Classical Pilates, a warm up and cool down are not necessary, because the preparation of the body for each exercise is built into the actual flow and sequence of the workout. That is the genius and legacy of the Pilates Method. The haphazard stringing together of an assortment of exercises that look like Pilates, not using the actual Pilates names of the exercises, and the bland, generic and at times biomechanically incorrect cueing were all a disappointment. This video is a poor example of the wonderful system of true Pilates work, and what happens when less than qualified people teach a routine on what could have been an interesting and creative prop.
