Beyond the Tracks is a beautiful story of a terrible period in the not so distant past. It's a well written account of an ordinary Jewish family and friends caught up in extraordinary times. Some of the scenes depict actual events and the courage of ordinary people fighting against the forces of evil is remarkable. The sadness of good people dying on the death trains and in the camps was palpable through the pages. This book is a wonderful tribute to the goodness and strength of those who fought for survival and humanity. Thank you Michael Reit for your beautiful narration.

Although I enjoyed reading the trilogy, "Track to Freedom, Beyond the Tracks and Botanist tracks". I have been aware of the many atrocities committed during WW2, Reading the books however gave me a greater understanding of the many brave men and women both in the camps and outside the camps. I have just bought the next 3 books Orpans of War, They bled Orange, and Crossroads of Granite .

Can’t say I love it but very informing . My grandparents and parents lived in the Netherlands during the war. I knew it was very bad but how animals could do that to other people and laugh while doing it makes me feel sick. Only into the 2nd book.
