Awesome bit of gear
I am using an EM 50 for controlling a contactor for our Hot Water System while capturing power usage through its 2 ammeter.
Our electrician had no trouble at all installing this in the powerboard on DIN rails.
I am using Wifi for integration for Home Assistant because I am a bit uneasy about having low and high current cables so close. Wifi (2.4Ghz only) works without a hitch. I configured helpers to detect load on each Ammeter so I can track when the Hot Water System is heating (on port A) and the water pump is in use (on Port B).
OzSmartThings was really helpful in choosing the Shelly Pro EM - 50 vs. Shelly pro 1. The part was sent promptly after the order and arrived way ahead of time (I used express shipping) before my plumber and electrician intervention. Highly recommending their service!

Good product, prompt delivery
Good price, prompt delivery. Product (Shelly Pro EM50) seems to be working as expected after installation by electrician. Shelly website also very informative. Thanks.

Versatile unit, but has limited current switching capacity
Other than the low switched current capacity (solved with an additional contactor), this completely solved an issue with a property with a limited feed in current and sketchy internet access that is used intermittently. One current sensor is used to measure total current and disable the electric hot water service when approaching the feed in current limit minus the HWS current capacity, the other monitors internal light and appliance circuits, switching on the hot water service when people arrive and switching it off after they leave, even when there's no internet access. It can be scheduled ahead of time when there is access.
