I am very pleased to have bought two of these these work great for loading pin squats even without an actual SquatMax. This item is very well crafted and it shows in the details. Of course this is built strong and can handle any weight plate, any bands and any chain you'd use with it. The end caps of the horizontal pipes are welded on with metal diamond plate. That might not seem like a big deal but it just demonstrates the robustness of the build. Made in China gear would have just used plastic plugs or let the pipes open but the builders at Black Widow craft everything to be durable and made to really last. As I said, I use these for loading pin belt squats just free swinging. You don't need a machine to take advantage of this great add-on to a loading pin. This is an upgrade to a standard loading pin and it works for my needs. This also allows for putting bands across the loading pin to change the lift for variety in resistance. Given the price is on par with a 15'' or bit taller high quality loading pin, which can cost about $100, it a a great tool to add in if you use loading pins with home gym pulleys or for belt squats and loading pin attached rows and vertical pulls etc. I have a front squat harness and like to lift with barbells and loading pin front squats (using a nylon strap). While his item isn't needed strictly, it gives a few more options for my front squat harness and that is very much worth the money, again given the price is really low considering that this is built to last decades. If you are a creative lifter who uses loading pins, you should buy one and experiment with you this can add enough change up to your workout to make lifting a bit more challenging and allow you to keep progressing.
