Haven Tent Rainfly

Side Sleepers can rejoice as we can now sleep in comfort and join the hammock world!! I ordered the Spectre as I am seeking the perfect moto-camping set up. I am so happy that Haven went with a Sip-Poly Rainfly. (No stretching when wet Sil-Poly is amazing) I have only had it for a short time and have had 5 nights with this set up. I have been in 2 thunder and rain storms, with the fly in "storm Bomb Shelter" mode I stayed completely Dry. With the rainfly in storm mode the tent still breathes good and I had absolutely no condensation issues inside. I ordered this with the r5.3 sleeping pad, it is comfortable, and I can sleep on my side in comfort!! The coldest night I have slept in was 28F, I felt absolutely no cold temperature creeping up through the pad. I think the weight is very respectable. Considering a large part of the weight is the sleeping pad. With an average tents the weight is between 4.0lbs to 6lbs plus your air mattress. This kit weighs in at 5 1/2lbs defiantly falls within my weight requirements. I pack a piece of Tyvek in my kit. I use it as a porch with all my tents. I lay the Tyvek down and set some of my gear on it and I have a place to take off my boots and not worry about tracking pine needles into my Haven. Now for the little quirks I would like to see improved. 1)The storage basement is great but if there is nothing in the basket to give some weight the little hooks easily come unhooked. What I would like to see is to convert the netting on the storage sack that holds the air mattress to the storage bag, if that netting was larger it could be dual purpose, the holder to keep the pad with the tent storage sack, 2nd it could become the basement storage and then use the plastic click connectors instead of the hooks. This would help prevent loosing the fabric basement storage. 2)I wish the sacks for the cross poles and stakes were not black, very easy to loose or misplace when setting camp in the dark 3) The side pockets inside the tent are in great locations. I have had several items get pushed out during the night and those items end up under the sleeping pad. This could lead to puncturing the sleeping pad. 4)The String light can be attached to the cross poles with silicone loops, would be nice if the loops were slightly larger for easier install on the poles. (Very minor quirk) 5) The sleeping pad packs very large. I have no regrets with ordering this kit. YES I would buy again and I will continue to recommend.

Bought and used this for 4 fantastic nights on my motocamping trip. Love how little space it takes up on the bike, ease of setup, and i haven't slept this good camping... ever.

First zipper pull and the pull tab comes off. Not a huge deal but come on for the price of this tent that’s still unacceptable. I’ve had Walmart tents that still have all the pulls on them. Using the zipper inside is a bit more difficult and it’s not super smooth. Hopefully this isn’t a prediction of quality for the future. The included hanging straps are way too short. Glad I checked or I would have not been able to set my tent up where I just camped. You’ll need trees to be 1-2 ft from tent ends. If the trees are large forget it.
