Best shelter choice I can think of!

I went on a 6 nights backpacking adventure to Yosemite wilderness and the Xdome1+ was the best shelter I could have asked for out there with the elements. For some reason I found myself pitching the tent at night most than not. The ease of use and intuitive design of this tent to both set up and break down, makes this such a good camping companion. The nice space inside and in the vestibules outside protected by the fly, all details seamlessly dancing together to make spending many nights on this tent, a wonderful experience. The versatility that allows multiple ways of setting it up according to conditions and particular needs that come up there on the field, unexpected is amazing. Such was my experience, when I camped at a place that I had very limited space. And during the day to walk by in front of the tent I decided to take one pole out of the little bracket and let it be still in the air. I also removed part of the fly to let the air come through as I was doing some writing inside the tent. Wonderful! Tent was perfectly balanced! I wish I could show pictures… One thing I would like is to have access to a vent after I set up the tent and I’m inside ready to go to sleep, or sleeping and wake up a bit hot, which is what happened to me. That night I already had to go out before to set the fliers because it was windy. And then I wanted more ventilation but I wasn’t ready to go out again. One idea is to make that V shape peace of mesh with two sides of a fine velcro. This “opening from inside” function not only serves for change of mind ventilation (open or closed) but provides as well a way to look outside that is very useful when we hear “something”! I like to peep and see if there’s a bear or any other animal around or nothing, this gives me peace of mind to go back to rest or to prepare to face a wild animal if needed. Just my idea, to add even more options to an already awesome tent. Another comment, that you can avoid publishing if you make this reviews visible to the public, is that I trusted Dan who said in a video that a footprint wasn’t necessary for this tent, just an option. And by the second night my tent had a little tear in the bottom. At the end of the trip I put some duck tape to prevent it from getting bigger. I’d like to know what is your advice for this situation. I love Dan’s videos still! I don’t know if in the future I should bring a footprint. ?? Thank you for reading all this!
