American Hickory 5B LONG ROUND TIPS

The sticks are definitely more dense than other name brands of the same size. Probably contributes heavily to their longevity. It’s inarguable. They do last longer. My thing is, I can’t continue to use these because I have to change heads 3 times as often. I save money on sticks ordering a brick of these, but lose that money and more with having to call sweetwater and order heads after one gig. Sticks are great quality for a great price if you can find a model that works for you.

I think I've found my new go-to stick! Of all the major brands I've played, these 5Bs show less wear and tear after a gig... fewer chips, dents, dust on the drum rug, etc. I especially like the red rings. I use them as a guide to get a great rim click sound!

I am a big fan of rounded tips both for snare work and for drumset work. The tip is sturdy, and the heft is excellent. To feel, it's more like my old Vic Firth's SD1. I tried playing the SD1 on my kit, and while I loved the way it felt, they didn't survive long. These will survive far longer.
