New saddle pack. Perfect size and great features

I love the concept and as always the badlands quality is unmatched. I set mine up with an extra set of the interchangeable grids for extra pouches. The thing I don’t love and also don’t hate is the main flap cover closure. The hook is nice on one hand for quieter open and close but on the other hand it’s a pain in the dark trying to find the loops and get the hook secured.

RISE above them all

The Badlands RISE has officially earned its place in my gear lineup, and I’m impressed. It’s one of those pieces of equipment that makes you wonder why someone didn’t think of it sooner. I’m on the shorter side, so finding a pack that actually fits me instead of making me look like a kid wearing his dad’s rucksack has been a challenge. The RISE fits extremely well. The sizing and adjustability let me get the load where it belongs, and once it’s dialed in, it carries comfortably without feeling like I’ve got a small tactical refrigerator strapped to my back. From a practical standpoint, the layout is well thought out, the organization makes sense, and the pack stays streamlined without sacrificing useful capacity. It feels purpose-built rather than designed by someone who has only seen the outdoors through a PowerPoint presentation. It’s comfortable, quiet, functional, and tough enough that I’m confident putting it through actual field use. Whether you’re hunting, hiking, scouting, or just disappearing into the woods because civilization has become annoying, this pack gets the job done. Bottom line: The RISE is squared away. It fits a shorter frame surprisingly well, carries weight intelligently, and doesn’t have a bunch of useless nonsense hanging off it just to look “tactical. ” Highly recommended. 5/5 — would trust it with my snacks and my survival.
