Since this is my first external DAC, I do not have anything else to compare it with, other than the one inside my TV. Along with the amp, it sends a clean audio signal. I also appreciate the connectivity options of this DAC, its affordability and compact size.

Nice little DAC
I am using the SU-1 for my kitchen speakers (Mini Advent ii). I am streaming through an apple AirportExpress using optical out. The quality of the unit seems very good, the sound is as good or better than the same setup I have in another room with a Schiit Modi+.
