The Meze 109 Pro are excellent musically sounding headphones. Lively with excellent bass. They scale up well with high end gear.

Pleasant surprise for a dynamic

I bought these as an alternative monitoring set-up for some over-seas sessions. I would have normally used my Empyreans or Stax 007s, but they took up too much space in my equipment cases. Although they don't have the fine-detail retrieval inherent in electrostatic or planar, they still provided reference quality sound and balance. Their tonal balance matches well with the Empyrean and Stax, and their bass response is significantly deeper than my other dynamic alternative of the Sennheiser HD600s.
