If you want something different

I bought this hat mostly for sun protection as I dislike reapplying sunscreen throughout the day. The cape or whatever will also help with wind. I like the exterior color and the black under the bill. I thought it would feel more lightweight than it does—something that's noticeable when you wear it and not in hand. Because the cape is sewed directly into the circumference of the hat, it drapes over the ears, which I found to be a little annoying. Here's hoping I get used to it. I think I would have preferred the cape be detachable thereby giving the hat versatility and moving the cape away from the ears a layer. As a product designer myself, I know there are opportunities for improvement and weight-cutting.
