I purchased this along with the matching cabin spinner and it changed traveling forever!! I can’t tell you how many people commented on how much simpler my system looked than their own, including my travel partner. The glide, the packing space, the stackable concept ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. I travelled Jet blue and the cabin spinner fit perfectly under the seat in front of me and was perfect for my international travels! This set is by far my favorite purchase of 2026 thus far and I can’t wait to use it more.

Wonderful bag!

I bought the 21” expandable ZDX because it has an exterior handle so the interior packing area is flat and fully 8 inches deep. This matters to me because, with a flat suitcase bottom, I don’t lose 1-1/2 inches of interior depth because the rods don’t intrude into the bottom of the bag . Also I really like that my packed items stay in place and are neat when I open the bag at my destination because there aren’t any rods which stick into the bag which prevents tight packing and prevents my bag contents from shifting during transit. I like packing the bag so it’s full and neat and opening it and it’s still full and neat, not with the contents shifted and a mess every time you move it. This flat packing accommodates my whole stack of packing folders on one side of of the bag and leaves room for all of my other stuff on the other side of the bag. I really like that the bag is wider (15 inches) and shorter (21 inches) rather than a standard 22 inch x 14 inch wide bag. Besides accommodating my 15-inch long packing folders sideways (which maximizes packing space) this shorter height makes it easier for me to maneuver the bag as a shorter person. I really like how smooth the rolling wheels are and the bag rolls straight (unlike so many other brands) and very smooth, especially over thresholds such as from tile to escalator or elevator to carpet without catching. I also like that the retractable handle locks at 1/2 height (great for a shorter person!). The ZDX expandable is 2 pounds lighter than the Baseline expandable and allows my packed case to be a little lighter weight which is good for hoisting up into busses and trains.

Traveling Big and Small

For years, my husband and I have traveled with our large Briggs & Riley suitcases, his in black and mine in navy blue. We love that the large size holds everything and gives us choices of clothes while on our trips. But on a recent trip that was going to require more luggage handling, I decided to keep it simple and travel in a minimalist style. I purchased the compact suitcase and the backpack, both in the same navy that I enjoy in my large. I found that the compact and backpack gave me plenty of room to pack what I needed, and gave me wonderful flexibility and ease for that type of trip. The quality and thoughtful design of the Briggs & Riley line has allowed our love of travel to flourish as we age.
