#5-1/2 Bench Hand Plane - Jack Plane - V3

I like the plane despite its flaws, the blade looked to have been bounced off a corner of the edge and took a lot of effort to get the back edge flat before honeing the front edge that seemed to not be affected by whatever happened to the back. The chip breaker edge had to be flattened it was a bit high in the middle. The back lash on the frog adjusting wheel was about a rotation and a half before engagement a bit sloppy. The tote was fine and finish was good. The sole was flat infront of the blade where it matters most behind the blade could have been flatter.

Heeavy duty, the shoe is polished cast iron very precise, and sharp out of the box. It’s more than I expected. Excellent tool.
