My first homemade Uji matcha
After enjoying cold Uji tea every morning during my stay in Japan last October, I finally prepared my own (hot) Uji matcha with the Uji Serenity tea set from Living Roots. It was much simpler than I had envisioned.I have some fine tuning to do, to balance the right amount of water with the right amount of delicious matcha powder, to cultivate my M or W pattern with the whisk and, so, attain the perfect froth. The flavor rich, robust, and a little indelicate (my fault, with the improper proportions). But it was definitely good enough to keep working at it, and the goal of a perfect serving of matcha is in sight. The tea set is complete, elegant, and of high quality. Living Roots knows what it’s doing.
