After some trouble with germination I put some fresh seeds on a heat mat and they popped up in less time than the package expected. They are sturdy little plants!

Kabocha Squash - Poor Germination
I was very happy with the germination rate for most of my seeds in this year’s purchase, except for the Kabocha Squash. Not sure why, but I was only able to get one seed in the packet to germinate. When I went through the soil to find the seeds, I found that they had all rotted. All my other squash varieties had no trouble germinating….so I am at a loss why.
