BIG MAT Cutting Surface

I ordered and paid for a 24"x36" sized mat. I received a mat marked 24"x34" instead. The stark white is hard on the eyes and makes it difficult to see to line things up properly. The surface is quite slippery making it difficult to hold things down to cut straight. I would have liked to have a 12" square marked off in contrasting color, either in the center of the mat or even off to the side, for a quick reference. It didn't take long for the mat to lay flat after having been shipped curled up and it is easy to wipe clean.
