First Edition Holy Psalter

This Psalter has replaced all other’s translations from my weekday prayer rule.

There are no jarring differences from translations that I am used to, and yet, this is the most beautiful translation of the Psalms that I have ever read. Also, the binding is strong and the cover is thick. Excellent work.

The best Orthodox Psalter?

Much effort, thought and care has gone into making this translation of the Psalter. There is good balance: familiar but different, traditional English but Orthodox, formal but not too archaic language. Made for both parish and private use. It reads well. The lines are broken up in a way that helps with the chanting style of our church. I like that the prayers after the Kathismas are included, but at the back so they don't have to be skipped in contexts where they are not read. I like the information on how to chant the psalter in not only a week, but in 2 or 4 weeks: that is wonderful. The Table of Psalms According to Theme and Pronunciation of Proper names are very useful. This psalter is designed to be very useful, so it will get used. Only time will tell, but I think it might be the best Orthodox Psalter. Many thanks to those who produced it. Glory to God!
