First Edition Holy Psalter

A great Psalter

This Psalter and the St. Ignatius Orthodox Press Psalter are my favorites. But this Psalter in my opinion is the superior translation and reading. I remembered when my parish priest bought this Psalter to replace the HTM everyone struggled with. The language of this Psalter is perfect for someone like me who grew up reading the King James and the Brenton LXX and ESV. I'll normally encounter words or phrases I'm used too but these a rare. Although I wish at least some of the Thees and Thys obviously in reference to God would of been capitalized. I'm not really impressed with the various arguments against capitalized pronouns to God but it's whatever. Also, I bought this edition because the pocket edition apparently does not retain the prayers after the Kathisma or even a reading schedule? Seems like a massive oversight. Overall a great work that I have minor aesthetic issues with.

Beautiful

I am no expert on psalters, I am just a sinner, but this translation does flow very well and beautifully. The efforts of the translators have produced good fruits and we are blessed to have this. The book is light, the paper is thick, of good quality, and has a warmer slightly beige-white color which is easy on the eyes. I love the bluish green color of the fabric cover. I can tell that this psalter will be used often. Thank you to everyone who has been part of this project.

This is a great product, quality material, modest look, and beautiful text within. Very helpful.
