I have made Stag's Leap Merlot a number of times, using WinExpert's Private Reserve kit. It is easy enough to make the kit -- easier certainly than making beer, which I also do -- assuming you have about $100 worth of equipment. The resulting wine is very fine. My first batch (made years ago) impressed a friend who loves wine. The kit will make nearly 30 bottles of wine, and each would be in the $12 to $18 range in the wine store
