Not for oily skin
I had high expectations for this set after reading the online reviews. However, it was disappointing to see that both were false advertising and failed to deliver. I have oily skin, and I am always on the lookout for that primer that tackles the oil and keeps it at bay for longer than 2-3 hours after application. This set claims to be “surfproof”, long-lasting, and passing the “white t/shirt” test. I got none of that! Instead, it made my skin oilier and shinier within less than 2 hours of application and gave me a super sticky feeling for as long as I wore my makeup. Transfer-proof? Heck NO! which was deeply disappointing. I blame most of this on the setting spray, even though when wearing the primer alone, I didn't get that matte blurring effect for long either. Overall, I would not recommend to others with oily skin. Maybe this will work wonders for dry or slight combo skin but not for oily at all. Returning the product, unfortunately):

The primer is extremely drying despite being marketed for all skin types including dry skin. The setting spray contains synthetic coconut fragrance, which directly contradicts Caliray’s clean beauty branding. I have sensitive skin and cannot use products with fragrance. If a brand is going to pride itself on being free of parabens, phthalates, and similar ingredients, adding synthetic fragrance to one of its most popular products undermines that entirely. What makes this worse is the lack of ingredient transparency. On their website, they highlight what products are free of and a handful of included ingredients, but the full list is buried behind a small-font link that’s easy to miss. Most brands include a photo of the product’s back label in their listing, which is typically where you’d find both the ingredient list and the product size. Caliray does neither. Had I seen the full ingredient list before purchasing, I would have passed.
