Triptych Automatic Wandering Hour Panda

Great but the lume not so good.

Nice fit, finish materials. Dial is unique but also understated enough to be a dauly watch. The watcgh is almost useless in low light. The lume isn't bright enough just with exposure to daylight. Buy it on sale. Would have been disappointed at full price.

This is a fun watch to wear and surprisingly readable

The wandering hour complication is probably not on top of a watch collector's list to get. Sure, it has been around for a long time, but we are socialized to watches with hands - at least when we are thinking about the mechanical kind. Moreover, besides being niche, these watches are expensive. In comes Xeric with the Triptych, laying groundbreaking work to stumble people with English as a second language and with dyslexia. When I wear it, the watch puts a smile on my face every time I look down at my wrist. It is also surprisingly readable. And - and this is the kicker - setting the time provides a miniature ballet show like no other. I recommend to do it to music. Are there complaints? Yes there are. The bezel, nicely brushed as it is, seems to be relatively susceptible to scratches. The guilloche of the dial is a very nice touch, but is relatively shallow and coated with in matte white, which makes it dissapear. I personally would have prefered a version without the circular skeleton on to of the three hour discs - but it probably has to be there for structural reasons. But at any rate, do not let these minor chriticisms deter you. This is a truely fun piece, an extension of every watch collection, a guaranteed wy to relax. get it while you can, I highly recommend it. And Xeric, if you are listening, make a second version. It is a idea too good to let pass in one edition.

First Disappointing Watch from Xeric. Cheap Materials.

I have been on board the Xeric train since your seminal Halograph. With its visible, dual balance wheels it is still one of my five favorite timepieces. I proudly own and wear 15 of your watches. All of that said, I am deeply disappointed by the Triptych. The hour markers are probably plastic, the minute marker crescent is clearly such. While the hour markers do exhibit SuperLumiNova, the minutes do not. Difficult to use one without the other. The Vendetta has metal or metal-looking markers for minutes despite the plastic-looking hour markers. Why was the same treatment given for Triptych? I’ll keep it but $799 is entirely too much for the materials and features. How much more would it have cost for the minute-marker crescent to be metallic or enamel. Your company looks forward and innovates. I own 15 of your watches. I have been an unofficial ambassador of your brand for a decade as during my work day, an average of two people compliment or ask me about my watch. It is most often Xeric on my wrist but I occasionally wear Omega, Mont Blanc, Movado, Piaget, or Constant, Depending on the situation, I usually take it off and hand it to them. They love your watches and I spell “Xeric” for them so they can “Google it” after they return home. Please make Triptych better. Yours in time,
