My New Favourite Overshirt
Loved sewing the Overshirt! I followed the tutorial video and found it super clear and easy to follow. The step-by-step guidance made the whole process enjoyable, and I learned a few new techniques along the way. I’m really happy with the finished result and would definitely recommend both the pattern and the tutorial. Emy

Wonderful Shirt Making Workshop
The Art of Shirt Making Workshop is great! It is full of tips and detailed explanations. You get 3 PDF shirt patterns and instructions, a video tutorial for the Overshirt, plus extra information on the processes not covered in the video for the Unisex Shirt and the Classic Shirt. I made a size 6 for the Overshirt (normally an 8/10) as I wanted a more fitted look. I chose my fabric because it paired well with the Worker Trousers I made, but it was weighty and structured and not ideal for my first go at the Overshirt. I made a complete mess of the collar as it ended up not being symmetrical and had thick, lumpy collar ends. So, I unpicked it all, collar and stand and re-cut it in a complementary lighter weight fabric which I am pleased with. Looks like I made a design choice now! Photo shows the Overshirt with the Worker Trousers. I made the Unisex shirt next in a 70/30 percent linen/cotton mix. I absolutely love this pattern. It turned out well with a great fit. I made an XS1 size graded down to XS2 at the shoulder and reduced the length before sewing by 4cm. I chose the medium length sleeve (choice of 3 lengths provided). I mainly followed the written instructions for the Unisex shirt but did get confused about the ‘burrito’ method of joining the yokes and needed assistance from an online video. I do find written instructions difficult to understand sometimes which is why I find the Modern Sewing Company’s video workshops so helpful. They are split into sections and are very easy to navigate and you can always go back to them when you need a refresher. These 2 shirts are the first shirts I have successfully made. Thank you!

Overshirt
This workshop has been great. So good to have such detailed videos explaining each stage. I am really chuffed with the finish - such lovely seams! I made it longer and added a bit to the sleeve length. On to the next shirt….
