Shawarma Spice

This plus oil, lemon juice, and salt makes the most incredible marinade for chicken. 24 hours, then onto a grill. Perfection.

I add a bit more salt to the spice blend and dry rub on skinless boneless chicken breasts for about 2-3 hours. Cook in a bit olive oil 2 min each side and glaze with water. Close lid for another 4-6 min. Such health way of cooking chicken breasts.

I mixed Shawarma Spice into sautéed eggplants, and it was delicious. My only issue was that I was too heavy handed, and the dish ended up being too spicy from the excess cayenne. This is not the fault of the spice blend itself, of course, as I had guessed how much to put in based solely on the aroma and not by taste. It's great to know that the amount of Shawarma Spice I bought will last longer than I had initially thought!
