The first time we had this dish was in Merida, Mexico on vacation. My sister-in-law found a recipe and had to shop around for all of the spices. When I saw this blend I purchased a smaller amount not sure if it would be the same. This blend was delicious and I bought her a larger package this time.

This is my go-to spice for puerco pibil, the dish made famous by Johnny Depp on "Once Upon a Time in Mexico." I made it for friends and it was a huge hit.

This is my favorite all around bbq rub on all kinds of meat. It also works great in other recipes like tacos, sheet pan nachos and southwestern dips.
