Just got this hooked up after a two-day solo DIY installation. Do your homework if you plan to install it yourself. I followed the installation instructions and HVAC best practices throughout the process. I used Nylog Blue on the front and back of the copper flare and on the male flare fitting, and torqued all flare connections to spec.
My biggest complaint is that the indoor unit’s refrigerant pipe connections are behind the unit. That made connecting the lines and properly torquing the flare nuts pretty tricky, especially working alone.
I mounted the outdoor unit on a wall bracket about 3-1/2 feet off the ground. I pulled the system down to 140 microns and, after isolating it, it held at 190 microns after 2-1/2 hours. Once commissioned, it started blowing ice-cold air.
I’m using this in a 30’ x 40’ garage with closed-cell spray-foam insulation and open trusses. So far I’m very happy with the performance. I can’t speak to longevity yet since I just installed it, but I’ll update this review down the road after I’ve had some time with it.
Overall, installation is definitely doable for an experienced DIYer with the proper tools, but this isn’t something I’d recommend going into blindly. Do your homework, use the correct equipment, and follow the proper procedures.

MASSIVE dishonesty. -The PRIMARY selling point for me was that Tosot wrote boldly on the product page: "WE NOW OFFER INSTALLATION IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA". - TOSOT. Themselves. Offers. Installation. - The link takes you to a "Base Price List". - The base price list is NOT an estimate. It is a QUOTATION, and it uses the legal term, "quotation" twice, for labor only. It also provides an additional travel charge for the distance their installer has to travel. - I factored that in. And the labor quotation provided by Tosot was EXCELLENT. ($650) So I ordered. - Then I had their installer come out. They gave me a verbal quote which they would not put down on paper. - It was over 300% of what Tosot quoted. Which is fine if they itemize and show me what the increase was for. - They refused. They said they have NOTHING to do with what Tosot quoted. That whatever Tosot says on their web page has nothing to do with them. That their labor charges are FAR more than that, and that the Tosot page was just an advertisement from a salesperson. - I asked if their base rate for labor was $650 as described by Tosot and that they just needed to add additional fees based on the needs of the install. They said NO. They would never install a unit of this size for anything like that amount and that their pricing was not based on line items they could share. (It was an even $2000 just based on vibes.) - I did not get the unit installed. It arrived with the box torn open and a dent in the side via THEIR freight shipper. (There is a sticker on the package that says, "refuse shipment if damaged" which you can only see once it's OFF the truck and unwrapped.) It remains useless and after 5 yelp inquiries saying they don't want to do this install job, there are no certified installers in my area except Tosot's apparently unrelated handoff partners. - Tosot has written 3 times to say that my package is coming in TWO shipments and that it is LATE. - It was never in 2 packages, and it was never late, they just have bad email administrators with terrible writing skills. When I called to ask about the second package and lateness they said, and I quote: "I think you got an AI response." - No. I didn't. This was your canned email message for mini splits. The dishonesty in an advertisement alone is enough to guarantee I'll win in small claims court within 10 minutes. So that's where we're going. I have screen-grabbed everything and absolutely intend to file.

This unit was installed in my 30x46 garage. The weather here is 100 degrees with a UV of 11. This A/C made the area very cool and comfortably dry. Very unusual for Florida. It’s great!
