At first I was skeptical. It seemed like a denser materials being used. And they are. I need push harder than normal to pierce the cork for the first 2-3 spines on the cork screw. The top sometimes will peel from the rest of the cork. It keeps the wine in hiwever.

I use a hand corker and saw recommendations to use synthetic corks to make the process easier. These were definitely easier than natural corks with a hand corker.
