Faun by Joe Hill - Standard State

This is the first CTP multi state edition to get in my hands and I'm very impressed. I hadn't read the story itself previously and clearly Tony has taste you can trust and I thoroughly "enjoyed" this fairly harrowing and disturbing short story. With respect to the production I love the paper selections for the binding especially the somewhat alarmingly named Elephant Hide paper on the spine. The endpapers are also very apropos with the coltskin embossing. The artwork of course was fantastic and I really appreciated the placement of the images. A lot of illustrated books put art a couple of pages before the scene plays out in the text. I was quite surprised to find a divider made of what might be some kind of handmade paper separating part I and part II of the story. This wasn't anywhere on the spec sheet that I could see so it was a pleasant discovery.

Beautiful book; great short story

As always such a wonderful production; a pleasure to read for the quality of the book as well as the story!
