OV Shoulder Strap Pocket - Backpack Accessory

This pocket is everything I was searching for when trying to recreate the functionality of my running vest's pockets, but on my backpacking pack. The shoulder strap pocket perfectly fits my hydrapak ultraflask speed 500, which has the flat bottom (not tapered like my salomon running vest flasks, which are too tall and skinny). The flask sits with the cap just above the pocket so I can drink water while walking with the pack on, exactly like my running vest, which was my goal. This pocket also perfectly fits a bear spray for easy and fast draw and return to pocket. It eliminates the bottom canister bang you get from the standard bear spray holders that only have one attachment point near the top of the can so the bottom is left to swing back and forth as you move. This pocket solves that problem by holding the entire canister against the strap and your body with no canister swing. My partner already took my other pocket and we plan to get more for our other packs. I want these on every pack I own bc they are so useful!

Not well thought out.

I have try to figure out how to get the bottom loop connected. The problem is that the shoulder conch strap does not come out of the buckle- which is a good thing in one respect - but not in this instance. The stitching on the end of the strap is sown so it won’t come out. So unless there is a magic trick I don’t know about I am not able to have the lower loop on the bottle holder where it should be. I would have to unstitch and then restock the end of the strap. Not well thought out. If you have any suggestions they would appreciated. Thanks

Use the OV Shoulder Strap Pocket for my Bear Spray

I am using the OV Shoulder Strap Pocket for my bear spray canister. It is sturdy, lightweight, and keeps canister handy without being in my way like my previous hip belt holster. I am very happy with the new arrangement.
