Bear vault friendly, built tough, yet so light
After a few years with the Shadowlight 60, I’ve dialed in my gear selection enough that it’s time for a smaller pack. Everything I’ve heard about the Carbon Evo 50 appealed to me but I had concerns whether things like the bear canister would fit. The pack is built like a tank and somehow it’s less than 2 pounds. All seams are great and the pouch netting feels incredibly resilient. I was totally amazed that my Bearvault 475 fits in sideways better than it did with my SL60 pack! Mind blown. I would have liked the extra pocket at the top of each side but I can adjust and live without them. The netting pocket will hold those things just fine. The pack fits great, flexes with me when I twist my upper body, and it’s a bit more narrow, which helps my center of gravity. I’m very pleased!

Sold my Durston
Just like the title states, I sold my Durston pack after getting the carbon Evo. It’s extremely comfortable to hold weight, ultralight and I can carry this for days without issue. I also really like the white color as it reflects the sun down here in the George heat.

Great pack that feels light even with a heavy load in it. Was a little nervous about it being such a light pack but it has the perfect amount of organization and felt no pressure on my shoulders.
