Worth Every Penny
I waited to write this review until I had the opportunity to use the Skycamp DLX Mini plenty of times. I'm hopeful this will helpful for potential buyers that might be doing some research before hitting that "Add to Cart" button. I can honestly say it has completely elevated my camping experience. This rooftop tent strikes a perfect balance of comfort, convenience, and smart engineering. In short, this is a great option for those that want a premium experience. Not to mention, it looks great on my Subaru Outback. The Skycamp DLX Mini opens in about a minute. Add the time it takes to inflate a mattress and make your bed, and you're up and ready to sleep in just about 10 minutes total. I have been storing my deflated mattress and bedding in the tent while it's folded up so it makes it super easy to access when it is time to setup camp. Once setup, it comfortably sleeps two people with plenty of room to stretch out. The interior pockets are nice touches for random storage of a phone, headlamp, etc... I was skeptical at first, but the perks of the DLX version are worth it. The built in LED light strips are excellent and installed in the perfect locations. The cork flooring adds sound dampening and insulation which makes sleeping very enjoyable. And the included mattress is probably the most comfortable mattress I've ever slept on while camping. I added a memory foam eggshell layer on top of my mattress, and it feels almost as comfortable as my mattress at home. If you've done your research and have decided a rooftop tent is for you, this is an incredible option. The price seems high, but the quality of the Skycamp DLX Mini and the added features really make it worth it. I'm happy I purchased this tent over others that were on my short list and I don't think I'll be going back to other camping/overlanding sleeping options at any time in the foreseeable future.
