Quality and Convenience
I brought up a bottle of Sicagno puree from the pantry. I used it on our Saturday pizza, I put a dash in rice and beans on Monday, and yesterday I added some to my minestra di zucchine—a squash and potato stew my Sicilian mother used to make. Sicagno keeps well in the fridge and the remnants will probably end up in our Sunday meat sauce. I love the flavor and texture and how well it goes with our homegrown basil. Buon appetito!
