Exceptional Balance, Power, and Value - XPA-DR2
Not only did I purchase the Emotiva XPA-DR2, but I also paired it with the XSP-2 preamp and XT3 speakers, and I’m very happy with the combination\. I find the system to be extremely well balanced. The XPA-DR2 drives the XT3s effortlessly, with plenty of clarity and control. The overall presentation is deliberate and authoritative, yet also relaxed and never forced, making it easy to listen to for hours at a time. After experimenting with speaker placement, I found that positioning them a fair distance from the front wall produced the best imaging and soundstage in my room, with only a slight toe-in needed for my listening position. The level of stereo separation and clarity is genuinely impressive, and while I can’t precisely quantify how much the amplifier and the preamp’s differential signal path design contribute, the end result is exceptionally clean and well defined. Over the years, I’ve spent more money on audio equipment and, in some cases, gotten far less in return. I wouldn’t describe myself specifically as an Emotiva enthusiast, but I do think they deserve credit where it’s due. Being able to purchase everything from one place and work with someone who was clearly familiar with the gear made it easier to put together a system that works well as a whole. The shipping and packaging were equally impressive. Everything arrived securely strapped to a pallet, and each component was very well protected, giving me confidence it would survive the journey to anyone without issue. Overall, I’m very satisfied with the XPA-DR2, XSP-2, and XT3 combination. It delivers excellent performance, solid build quality, and strong value, and I have no regrets about the purchase.
