Great subwoofer!
Great subwoofer at a good price compared to other brands I was looking at. I'm still building out my AV equipment and room, but so far I'm quite happy with this sub.

Massive/effortless bass
Purchased the VTF 3 to replace a VTF2 MK5 for our new theater area (approximately +4000 cu feet). The VTF 2 provided adequate output for the majority of the movie, but lacked the visceral punch during bass heavy scenes….the room was too big for the VTF 2 to pressurize (and HSU recommends the 2 for rooms under 3000 cubic feet). The VTF 3 plays nice for most of the movie, but gives a nice gut punch when the soundtrack calls for it. My home theater is on a concrete basement floor, so when the couch rumbles, it not because the floor is vibrating, it is the wave coming out of the VTF3 (which does shake the couch on the main floor as well). Granted the VTF3 is a large black box. but for a dedicated movie space, its looks are secondary (and the satin black finish is nicer than the 2’s textured vinyl wrap finish). All my research led me to the HSU VTF 3 MK5, as the product at its price point and for my purpose, could not be beat.
Shout to HSU support (Kevin) for his honest, no pressure conversation to best for my needs.

I got this sub to replace a REL that I put on my stereo. This know is on my surround system and it is working just fine. I honestly think it’s working at about 10 percent of its capability which I don’t mind because I live in a condo. I highly recommend it.
