High quality

Galion Victoria: “It’s excellent”. Better than I imagined. Testimonials or reviews may sound too good to be true. It’s hard to know what to believe. I don’t have enough experience to know if there are any equivalent class A EL84 amplifiers that sound better. If there is what is it, what is the cost? Steve Huff, an audio reviewer who has shared his opinion on high quality gear, and some very expensive, was impressed with this amp. I agree with his YouTube review and description based on my personal experience with Victoria. I am using this as a speaker amplifier, not headphones yet. I have 91 db sensitive 3 way towers with upgraded cross-overs. Victoria scaled up quality very high. I went through an Eversolo streamer, an R2R DAC and tried both with and without preamp TS P75. Victoria truly delivered hi-fi in a big, plain, clear, dynamic yet soulful way. Holographic, layered, did I say big?…intimate, precise, and smooth enough to keep you there. Midrange is the star as intended. It is quite surprising and effective in delivery, magical really. 100 hrs with stock Mullards and I was blown away. I tried Ray tubes 12AX7 with stock Mullard EL84 (this is a really wonderful combination). Improved again! Prepare to spend much more time with your music than you have to give. It’s that good. I’m surprised and happy, and would definitely do it again. Thomas has a very good ear. Him bringing the Victoria to market is a gift to us all!

Victoria, a very special amplifier.

After a few weeks of owning this amplifier I am deeply satisfied and impressed. The soundstage is expanding and the dynamic is improving as the unit is breaking in. The sound is holographic and very natural. Thomas did an awesome job with the design, not just with the tuning of the sound, but also the looks too. Without using fancy and costly machining or materials he created a tube hologram with a simple mirror and a glass. The use of a blue led indicator as a tribute to the engineer that overcame this technical challenge I suspect. This is a very special product designed by a very passionate guy. Galion could easily sell them at 3 time the price, but they have chosen to be fair with their customers.

Enjoying our 1st tube amplifier.

We've been enjoying Victoria for about a week. It pairs with our existing Marrantz 8850a and Buchardt Audio MKII SE in the living room. This is our first tube amplifier. Listening volume is set at less than 80db (Marrantz) with Victoria dialed at 3 o'clock, playing CDs. Our comparison is the Emotiva DR3. Victoria presents a truly musical experience in overall tone. Vocals and woodwind instruments excel. Vinyl seems relatively more challenging from our preliminary experience. Not surprised although was hopeful...
