I use this plate and D-Ring to tether my dog inside the boat so that I can be confident she remains safe and visible while we are under way, docking, or otherwise need the peace of mind. The right length lead for us (6 ft) lets her access the top of the swim platform so she can observe the water play as well as the footwell of the helm so she can curl up in safety.
