Good Unit

I now have 2 of these units, one as a Base and the other in my vehicle. Semms to be made strong, durable and has the functions I wanted as a Tech class operator.. Small complaint about the Audio volume, seems a bit too low even when set to Max Volume (8) in the CPS.. But I guess this is why a second speaker was added to the Mic to combat this slight issue.. Otherwise, I am so far happy with the purchase(s).

Radio is great... add ons, not so much

The Anytone AT-D5788UVIII Plus seems to be a fine radio. Got it all setup and wrote a code plug for it. It is connecting with my local repeaters as good as my other radios. The "University" bundles are OK. But they do not do a very good job of explaining things. Pretty generic or aimed at the 878 handheld. Even getting access to them was a chore that required contacting customer service. Never have found out how to get my BCU + access. The link provided didn't work and customer service only got me into University for the basic videos. Oh well, I didn't expect much and received what was expected. Not much. I won't be in a hurry to suggest anyone buy the bundle for anything but the radio.
