This is a standout double boot
Among a small group of options for double mountaineering boots, this one stands out. So much about a boot is fit, and I definitely have a foot that does well in Scarpa, so that colors things, but I've been through three pairs of these, from Rainier to Denali, over about 15 years. They hold up well, and plenty warm, light, and each generation has climbed better than the last. This iteration is quite light, easy to get into, warm, and fits well for technical climbing as well. The fit and movement feels quite close to the phantom tech. This has been and remains by go to boot when the temps are chilly.

WIDE FOOT -SASQUATCHish
searching for my first glacier travel boots, as I have plans to spend two weeks on the ice sheet in Greenland as well as hike, Baker and Rainier this summer.
I normally wear a 10 1/2 or 11 wide in running shoes. Standing on flat ground the widest part adjacent to the ball of my foot is 124 mm and length tow to heal 280 mm.
My regular hiking boots are Zamberlan 11W
I initially bought LaSportiva G-summit in EU size 45. These were very narrow across my arch and the tow box seemed short as well. They were so narrow that I knew even sizing up I would not work..
I ordered the Scarpa Phantom 6000 after discussing with the extremely helpful staff at Whitaker.
The boot design and features are accurately described elsewhere so I won't spend any time talking about that. The size 46 seems to be a nearly perfect fit with a medium pair of darn tough wool socks. There is plenty of room beyond my toes that I don't have any concern about to strike.
Since I live in Florida, I have not been able to test these on any terrain other than dry trails. I have done numerous hikes up to 6 miles with a 45 pound backpack with no heel lift, no hot spots or pressure points that I can detect.
The rocker seems to allow good walking on steep terrain, I have been walking on my X 24 treadmill at 30 to 35° elevation without problem.
Hopefully this will be helpful for others that have wide feet like myself. I will do a follow up review after doing legitimate hikes with cold weather, icy, terrain, crampon use, etc.
The crampons that I use are Petzl Sarken... These were easy to fit to the scarper boot with secure step in bail.
