Hard as a Rock - Mattress

I purchased the Firm Organic Latex mattress. Queen size I can’t see the latex or wool but the cotton cover is wonderfully made, there has been zero off gassing and I love that it’s GOLS and GOTS CERTIFIED. That being said, I am a side sleeper so I can’t speak to those who have purchased this mattress who are back sleepers but as a side sleeper this mattress feels like sleeping on concrete - no give whatsoever. I actually looked at the tag to see if it was the Extra Firm. I’m in more pain than before I purchased this mattress. Frankly, even lying on my back has been extremely uncomfortable. I dread going to bed. What’s really frustrating is that I called Soaring Heart in person before purchasing the mattress and told them that I was a side sleeper and even asked if I needed a topper since it only came in Firm and Extra Firm. Was told to wait until I tried it which is valid but I’ve never felt Latex this firm in my life and they have the Extra Firm as well - can’t even imagine. I’ve ordered a topper in hopes that it will miraculously make this mattress comfortable but in the meanwhile I have every comforter I own on top to make it bearable. I will say that my breathing and other allergy related issues seem better and my room smells slightly wooly and natural which I like and I psychologically feel much better knowing what’s not in my mattress. This mattress, at least for me, has so far been a very expensive and major disappointment but if the site allows me, I will leave an “updated review” if the topper is a game changer because I can’t fault the obvious quality of the product. I love this company, the well made items and their non toxic philosophy. Hopefully they will come out with less firm options in the future.

This is our 2nd Soaring Heart latex mattress. We’ve slept some 15yrs on our Queen and it was time to stretch out and get a CalKing. Love!
