Yamaha Intermediate Flute Model 462 - New

Beautiful sound, Wonderful Flute

I purchased my first flute about one year ago and played it so often the pedals started clicking; so, I decided to upgrade to an intermediate. I quickly adjusted to the new flute and absolutely love the sound.

Superb Upgrade

I played a good open-hole flute for 25 years, but I got to the point that I wanted a really high-quality upgrade. After searching and reviewing for some time, I finally settled on the Yamaha 462. What I got was a fantastic upgrade, as follows: 1. This new Yamaha flute is easier to play and performs so much better on both the top and bottom ends than my previous. Whereas I had to work really hard for high and low notes before, they are so much easier with this new flute. 2. The key action is noticeably better than my older flute. The keys have a very solid but smooth feel (like driving a sports car), and I can definitely move faster on this Yamaha than my old flute. 3. I find my air demands with this Yamaha are much improved. It is easier for me to play longer passages because the head joint (and the whole flute) is so much improved. 4. I don't know if the gold-plated lip plate improves my tone, but it makes me feel classy when I play. And that, in part, is worth something! I knew Yamaha as a well-respected name in flutes - I just was surprised when the quality of this flute surpassed my expectations. Finally, I'd say it took me about 2 weeks with this instrument to feel comfortable and fully adjusted. Now, it feels like coming home when I put it to my lips. This was money well spent! Well done, Yamaha!

Flute Center is the best place for flute needs
