Febo Cross Barefoot - Avion

The lovely: I was surprised and impressed by how comfortable they are. The sole is thin, but buoyant in a way I wasn't expecting. It is one of my favorite shoes to walk in during the summer. I was initially concerned with potential blisters from the heal material rubbing on my foot. After wearing them as a daily sandal over the summer, my concern disappeared. In fact, I cherish the smooth way the leather cups the back of my foot. It feels protected and comfortable. Areas for improvement: The top strap of the sandal is quite a bit larger than the bottom strap. It doesn't seem to affect how I walk, but I don't find it aesthetically pleasing. You can see the extra strap length in the photo with the red arrow. Additionally, the toe straps are placed a bit back on the foot so the entire length of most toes shows. I don't love the way this looks, but I imagine it is related to movability. I also find the buckle to be low quality. The interior part of the buckle is a bit rough and it scrapes the leather. See photo. Additionally, the buckle swings backward, which causes me to routinely attempt to buckle in the wrong direction. I put the strap in the back part of the buckle marked "No" in the photo instead of through the correct part marked "Yes." It would be nice to have some sort of natural protective coating on the leather to protect it from abrasions (like those caused from the buckle) and liquid marks. A small sprinkle of water caused discoloration that took months to dissipate. Finally, after only one season of use, the edges of the sandal are fraying a bit. It is minor and I don't expect it to go past the stitching. As of now, it does not affect comfort, which is one of my biggest priorities. Overall: I am looking forward to ordering another pair of Sandals if my current ones last some more seasons. I am happy to support Crupon, which uses "only first-class Italian leather processed by hand with natural extracts following the traditions of generations of Tuscany masters." The Febo Cross is such a fun sandal to add some variety to my summer shoe collection and the color (Avion) is absolutely stunning! My mouth literally fell open when I pulled them out of the box! They are just so beautiful! Size 35 fit my 22.5cm x 8.5cm foot very well! Bring on summer so I can wear these babies!!
