Ferrum Oor Desktop Headphone Amplifier

Got this to run my Modhouse Tungsten DS mostly and does a great job for me running them. Comparing to my Topping A90 I feel like the sound is a little livelier but not losing any detail and has made for a more fun time listening to my other headphones on it cause I feel like it just draws you into the music more.

Fantastic duo! I didn't have a chance to audition the Hypsos /OOR combo prior to purchasing but went by online / YouTube reviews. I was mainly interested in compact equipmen that could also drive the likes of the Abyss AB-1266 Phi TC and Hifiman Susvara. They do! Or should I say the OOR does. And plenty of options to gradually increase the power, apart from the volume button you can increase using the gain -dB, 0 and +dB, and the ability to use the Bypass function. The Hypsos adds some flexibility varying the voltage but I have not done enough testing myself to be able to comment on that. How do they sound? To me neutral. But note that I am using an the DAC from the RME ADI-2 (all settings neutral) and Roon DSP to color to my likings.

The Ferrum Oor + Hypsos is a phenomenal amp and PSU that will drive any headphone. I mainly use mine with ZMF headphones, and while it doesn't quite replicate the holographic sound that tube amps provide, the sound is detailed, crisp, and authoritative. I've heard a number of solid state amplifiers, and this is the best I've ever heard. I am extremely satisfied with this purchase. Shipping was quick and painless, and while I don't intend to return this unit, I have returned other products to headphones.com, and customer service was responsive and respectful. Whenever I consider buying new audio gear, I look at headphones.com first to see if they have what I want in stock.
