Carbon Lite

Excellent thermometer, even better customer service!

I bought a carbon lite thermometer and used it several times smoking a turkey, brisket, chickens, and making carne asada on the grill. After about 10 uses, the temp started fluctuating wildly. I emailed customer service and after about 5 days had a new thermometer wire assembly. The original wire went in the trash and I was back in business. I love the ability to be inside the house and be able to monitor a long smoke. The Carbon Lite reads both the grill temp and the meat internal temp. I now can’t grill/smoke without it. I appreciate a company that stands behind their products. I understand there are always product issues, but I will always give a company the chance to make things right. Lavatools obviously cares about their customers and their products.

Carbon Lite

I don't normally write reviews and full disclosure, Lavatools asked me to BUT I'm going to write a brief one this time; the Carbon Lite rocks! This was exactly what I was looking for, a Bluetooth connected thermometer that reads the temp of the meat as well as the grill. Setup was a breeze and it seems to work very well. I compared the reading to trusted digital thermometer I've had for a while and the Carbon Lite was spot on. If I have one complaint its that I wish the Bluetooth range was a little greater. That being said I now use an old iPhone and keep it in the kitchen window (the grill is out back not too far from this window).

A really intuitive app is required to access the thermometer; this was no problem even with my ancient iPhone (5S). Probe has a long enough lead to be convenient, seems to be very high quality assembly. Very happy with my purchase, it is perfect with my Traeger, especially when cooking on low heat or smoke settings.
