The taste of nostalgia

Growing up as a young girl in West Texas, I have warm memories of joyful summer visits from our family back East. These visits were frequent and always included a generous heap of Elgin sausage to be divided up among family members. It was a given that anyone traveling from near Elgin was expected to “bring on the Elgins!” Now that I am far away (in another state), I had a wild craving brought on by reminiscing and sharing with my own grown children. I wondered if the sausages were still available and if it would be possible to have those sausages shipped to me. Imagine my excitement when not only was it possible, but they taste exactly as I remembered! I am so happy to share this delicious family tradition with a fourth generation.
