Super High Quality But Head Is Very Bulky

This is a great shaver to be sure and the quality is very high. The knurling is well done as well, and it shaves really well. That said, I wanted a SE razor to make it easier to shave under my nose, but the head size is very bulky making under nose downstrokes very difficult to accomplish. Loading new blades is also a bit kludgy as the nubs to hold the blade in place are under the head and not on the base plate. You effectively need to load a new razor with the handle facing upwards. While this is my first modern SE razor, I've been DE shaving for 20+ years now and have used Schick DE razors before. I had considered just going back to my old Schick DE with the bakelite handle but I wanted something heftier and modern. I would have ordered the Blackland Vector, but it was a bit pricier than I wanted, and the handle wasn't knurled. I tried returning this razor the day it arrived (it was unused), but with the restocking fee and extra shipping charges it just didn't make sense.

RR Hawk V3 OC

The Hawk loaded with an AC Feather professional blade. This is the most comfortable and efficient razor I’ve used in seven years of DE razors and blades. Nothing comes close to the Hawk for my face and head shave. I will not be going back to using DE. Blades or razors. The Hawk V3 OC has given me the highest efficiency and best skin comfort I’ve had to date.

Excellent smooth shave with the correct blade

I have usually leaned toward open comb or slant razors for their aggressive shaves. The blades being most important for their sharpness. I own many Artisan style razors both single edge or straight razors. Currently I use the now defunct Mongoose razor using both Kai and Feather AC style blades. I wanted another Artisan blade razor and opted for this fine RazorRock Hawk V3. I chose the long super knurled handle and both the OC and A baseplates.The “A” being the most aggressive. I am very pleased with my choice from the Italian Barber. I have used the Kai mild “pink” blade four times with both plates and see no reason to change my choice. The life of these milder Artisan blades very long. I highly recommend this razor
