Sizing is off on this pattern

I'm a quilter who picked up sewing clothing a few years ago. This is the first pattern I have ever used where the sizing is way off. My daughter is a tiny kids size 8 at 50 pounds. When I followed the chart according to her measurements- it was comically too small. I ended up attempting the adult XS, which fit her. I attempted to make a dress for myself and the sizing was way off too. I don't recommend this pattern.

Do you sew skating dresses?

My neighbor popped in to ask if I had ever sewn skating dresses. I honestly replied no, but I know how to sew. So off I go to shop for patterns. This was a surprisingly fun sew. The girls looked great in their dresses and had fun at their first skating showcase.
