Esterbrook Phaeton 300

The pen in true Esterbrook fashion is top notch quality and styling! Another great addition to my collection.

I found this pen quite by accident. I liked the styling and color. It was hard to find anywhere so I bought one. It's an affordable pen so doesn't have a high end feel, but it writes wonderfully. I use Old Crown Mill paper as well as some vintage sheets I have and the results are as good as can be. The hooded nib is interesting and I wasn't sure about it but it seems to help keep my fingers clean. The only minor issue is the clip. The finish has a slight chip on one side. I use the clip primarily to keep the pen from rolling so it doesn't make a difference. I'm glad to have this in my collection. Order process and shipping were fine as well.

The pen is great for everyday writing tasks. It flows well and the nib is smooth.
