Bravus II 12D 650W 12" Powered Subwoofer

Overall great experience!

After purchasing what I remember where the Versus Forte tower speakers, a pair of in-ceiling surrounds and a center channel 10+ years ago, I was finally able to purchase a Bravus II 12" sub. While the sub matches my tower speakers perfectly even after all these years, I was a little disappointed in the build quality. Sound is great, though the auto-on function doesn't appear to work correctly (get a loud thump when it does finally detect a signal), but leaving it in the always on position seemed to fix that issue. One of the grills is a bit loose, but not enough to rattle. While it's not perfect, I do love the deep bass it provides and the customer support is amazing. Purchased for full price and the day it arrived I received an email that it went on sale, one email later I received a refund of discount amount. So over-all a solid 4 out of 5, not perfect but worth what I paid.

This sub is really a beautiful product. It has a small footprint, but packs a huge wallop in the low frequencies! I'm pretty sure you will not find another design like this one. Customers generally have to choose between a sub with a duct port or sealed enclosure. For audiophiles, the sealed approach is always the better choice. With this design, you have the best of both worlds, a quick and responsive 12" active woofer will a tremendous power plate amplifier, and not one but two 12" passive radiators on the left and right side of the box. The design offers extreme controlled and tight low frequency reproduction, and no "slop" sometimes associated with a duct port design. The energy created by the active 12" driver drives the two 12" passive radiators, it's just a fantastic design. I chose the beautiful Steinway black gloss finish, but the wood finish is just as remarkable, your choice. I replaced two huge subs with 18" drivers with two of the Aperion subs, and it was the BEST decision I ever made, tight, controlled and powerful bass, 150% endorsement from me!
